Giving is one of the greatest blessings as a follower of Jesus. Paul reminds us of what Jesus said, “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” Those who have made giving a part of their Christian journey can attest to the beautiful reality of that simple truth.
Online giving provides our members and guests with more flexibility and ease in giving. You can give with security and confidence using this simple, yet technologically advanced tool. You can use your debit card to make a one-time contribution, or you can setup recurring gifts on a weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly schedule. You can also create a login account where you can manage your recurring gifts and see your online giving history.
We have partnered with Churchteams, our church manangement solution provider, to offer secure online giving. When you click the link below you will be taken to their site to complete your transaction. If you are already in our database, you will be able to search for your name and setup your online giving account. If not, you will be prompted to setup a new account. Thanks for giving to God and supporting the ministries of Oakwood Community Church!
October 14, 2015
To the Family of Oakwood Community Church,
I am so excited and looking forward to what God has in store for us as a church family. We have seen very encouraging growth at Oakwood recently. Fifteen people were baptized in recent months and we added 31 people into membership. What an exciting time to be part of the Oakwood family!
The Elders at Oakwood are energized about developing and casting vision. We have launched an exciting start to helping our church fix pressing facility issues and care for the people God has given us to serve. Starting this Sunday, October 18, we are inviting everyone at Oakwood Community Church to join in a faith raising campaign which we are calling, “God’s Work”. We want you to become a part of this life-changing, faith-stretching action. “God’s Work” has four faith goals:
We are asking the people of Oakwood to step up and meet the first issue immediately… Ground Work – The work began this week on our much needed parking lot repairs! We are having the lot patched, sealed and re-striped. We are committed to this expenditure and need you to help raise $35,000 ($200 per parking space) to fund this project. In this mailing you have received a specially marked “God’s Work” envelope. Please consider what God would have you contribute to this project and drop your donation in the offering plate any Sunday or give online using your debit card at www.oakwoodcc.org. This Sunday, October 18, will be our “God’s Work” campaign kick-off. Let’s make this Sunday a tremendous start to meeting the need. I’m praying the parking lot will be funded by the end of next week. That’s a big faith goal but we can do it!
When we reach the $35,000 goal, we will proceed directly into our Growth Work – Remodeling our lobby as an overflow space with a kitchenette and café area allowing us to accommodate more people in our morning service, while providing much needed fellowship space and opportunities. We hope to have the first two phases of “God’s Work” completed or under way soon.
By the first of the year, we hope to shift our focus to the third phase, Gaining Financial Freedom Work – At our current pace, our current debt (just under $500,000) will be paid off in seven years. I believe we can shorten this time. If we make a concerted effort, we can finish paying off this debt in half the time.
Getting out from under this debt will prepare us for phase four, Going Further Work – We don’t know what this will look like yet but we want to be preparing for when God brings more of our family members and neighbors to Oakwood. We want to have adequate facilities so we can minister to them and help them grow in their relationship with God. We are excitedly anticipating what God is going to be doing with Oakwood Community Church in five to ten years from now.
Please begin praying about how you will participate. Remember it’s not about equal giving as it is about equal sacrifice. I’m praying God will stretch all of us to give sacrificially for His work. Looking forward to all God has in store for us.
Love in Christ,
Pastor Don Jackson (Ps 139)
